2K Games and Firaxis Announce New DLC Pack for Civilization V

Vikings scenario and Explorers map pack set for digital launch next week.

Stake your claim for a seat at Odin's table in the latest DLC installments for Civilization V: Denmark - The Vikings scenario and the Explorers Map Pack. 2K Games and Firaxisannounced today that the two packs will be available for download beginning next week.

The Civilization V and Scenario Pack: Denmark - The Vikings and Explorers Map Pack brings Denmark King Harald Bluetooth to Civ V along with ten new single-player maps from around the world.

A description of the scenario from Firaxis:

In 1066: Year of Viking Destiny, the throne of England is up for grabs. Take the role of one of four leaders and seize control of the British Isles! Special rules for the scenario ensure that the only way to win is by the cunning use of force. Can you complete the Domesday Book and secure legal rule before your rivals? Use unique units for each faction in the scenario to claim the throne and stand the test of time.

The Explorers Map Pack includes five real-world locations chosen for their historical interest, including the Bering Strait, as well as five scripted maps environments that change from game to game.

The two DLC packs will be available for download on May 3 for $5 each or bundled for $7.50.
